I am starting with the Android Programming so am very bad in basics, I know that if we change some settings we can specify the support for different types of screen resolution as like phone, tablet etc.

Can you tell me how to change that layout in Android Emulator? What settings I should change?

Yes you are right there is a little change you have to do in your Android project to get this done, all you have to do is to follow the simple steps given below,

STEP 1: Open the AndroidManifest.xml file which will be present in the root of your project tree and add in <support-screens> element.

STEP 2: For eg. It should look like this,

<manifest xmlns:android="" package="apt.tutorial" android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0">

STEP 3: Save the file and try to run the project to find the end-result in the Emulator.

In the above example you can see that xlarge, large and normal is marked as true which means it supports the size of Android Phone screen, tablet and so. The smallScreens is marked as “false” which means it doesn't support the hardware which is of less than 3” size so if you need that support you can make it “true” if needed.
