Author Topic: Failed to load the JNI shared library C:/JDK/bin/client/jvm.dll error in Eclipse  (Read 5418 times)

Things were working fine with my Eclipse Juno IDE but suddenly now when I tried to open up the eclipse.exe file I got the error message as "Failed to load the JNI shared library "C:/JDK/bin/clien/jvm.dll".

Anyone had the same issue before and fixed it? Can you please share the information to resolve the problem?

Thank you.

Seems to be an issue with your Java Classpath in your system. If it was working before and stopped working all of sudden then probably installation of new applications like Oracle DB, JBoss etc. would have forced you to set a different classpath for Java which is 32bit and you are using the Eclipse Juno which is 64bit.

So, now to resolve this problem you need to set the classpath of Java 64bit within your system Environment variables which will not be a 100% solution as some of your other applications will still need the Java 32bit in the classpath.

The best solution for this problem is to configure the Java classpath in eclipse.ini file. Follow the steps which are given below,

STEP 1: Go to the home path of your eclipse application -> Find the "eclipse.ini" file and open it.

STEP 2: Now add the argument -vm like this "-vm
<your jdk path>\bin\javaw.exe"
your eclipse.ini file will look something like below,

C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_24\bin\javaw.exe

STEP 3: Save the file and restart the eclipse again which should work smooth now  8)
