It is true not only Kindle Fire but every tablet in market lacks in the battery backup as it is chargeable and the strength battery only holds for some time, but yes you can do follow some precautionary measures where you can probably increase the life of the battery. Now there are some important steps which you can take care while using your Kindle fire as follows,

-> Change the app settings which in the sense some of the common apps like e-mail, news, sports etc. will always keeps on getting the update in a frequent time limit which ultimately reduces the battery life, so try to stop it fully or you can also set the app time limit like 1 hr or so to avoid frequent updates.

-> Close all the apps which are not used presently in your Kindle Fire. To close the apps just go to Settings->Applications->Running Applications and then just tap on the app which you want to close and hit force stop to close it.

-> Switch Off Wi-Fi when not in use so that the unnecessary ping for checking Wireless connection and other updates will be stopped.

-> Whenever you want to close some apps use the back button to close but not the home button because in android using home button will make the app to pause but when you use back button it just closes the app which probably saves the hardware usage and which in same time the battery.

-> Try to lower the screen brightness as much you can till you are comfortable with reading because screen light itself will consume 40% of the entire battery.

-> If you use your speakers to listen songs and see movies with kindle fire then better go for earphones as it consumes less power when compared with external speakers.

-> You can also use a good app which is explicitly designed for Kindly fire from Amazon which is named as “Badass Battery Monitor”.

These are the simple steps which you can probably follow according to your usage to increase the battery backup of your Kindle fire. So start following some simple steps as above to ensure you are using your kindle fire to the extent which it can perform 100%.
